Great Talent Comes From Texas

Jack Fanselau, a senior music major at Southwestern Adventist University (SWAU) chose this university because he wanted an Adventist education and heard SWAU was the best in Adventist music education. Fanselau has been singing and performing opera since age eight and wanted to make this his career.

When Fanselau met his SWAU music professor, Johnathan Wall, that interaction

changed his life for the better. Wall had connections to Mitchell Froom, a very known music producer who also wrote for Chance the Rapper.

From saw Fanselau’s vocal talent and decided to help him produce a single, When the Sun Don’t Shine released in early 2021. It is also available on YouTube and Apple Music.

After the release, Fanselau received multiple contracts from other companies including Warner Bros. Fanselau has also worked with producers and attorney David Byrnes who works with singer-songwriter John Legend.

Fanselau loves the opportunity he has had to sing Pop and R&B for the past year. His dream at SWAU is to learn more about opera as well as classical music. One day he plans to earn his bachelor's and master's degrees in music which will allow him to perform opera and teach future music performers
